"Move over Rocky Balboa. Thailand vs. Challenger will deepen the world's love affair with all things Thai, and Muay Thai kickboxing may never be the same again. I give Elite Boxing a gold medal for vision...as in television!"
The new series of televised Muay Thai events poised to elevate Thailand’s national sport to the level of top fight entertainment while highlighting its widely recognized supremacy as a martial art is to debut with a grand opening event in Bangkok on 16 January 2010 at Siam Paragon’s Royal Paragon Hall.
Organized by Elite Boxing Co., Ltd., the first of the Thailand vs. Challenger series will take place in March with Thailand vs France at Baan Klang Stadium, Pathum Thani, in May Thailand takes on China at the Laguna Phuket, in July the Royal Cliff Pattaya is host to Thailand vs Russia, Baan Klang Stadium is again a match venue in September, this time for Thailand vs Japan, and in November it’s back to the Laguna Phuket for Thailand vs Australia.
Throughout the televised series top ranking Thai Muay Thai boxers will face challengers from around the world. Acting as ambassador for the series will be popular television host and DJ Piyawat Khempetch. Sanctioned by the World Muay Thai Council (WMC) and in conjunction with Thailand's number one promoter, Songchai Ratanasuban, each event will feature Thailand vs. Challenging Nation bouts plus title fights and female bouts to create both a supreme martial art and entertainment experience.
