Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn has broken the news about the appointment of Kan Bright San as its executive chef. This announcement is in line with the hotel’s City Life Dining campaign that centers around the opening of three new restaurants. The Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn is set to open in late 2009, and is part of Radisson® Hotels & Resorts, the leading upscale, full-service brand of Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
Executive chef Kan Bright San is a recognized member of the Singapore Chefs Association, with over 18 years of culinary experience in top hotels and restaurant kitchen operations having worked alongside with Michelin-star chefs in Singapore. His gastronomic creations were most recently available at the Hotel Royal Plaza on Scotts in Singapore where he was the executive sous chef. His culinary marvels as the executive chef at L’Aigle d’or, a French fine-dining restaurant at a boutique hotel along the Duxton area in Singapore - famous for its upscale, fine-dining restaurants - earned several accolades, including Singapore Tatler’s best restaurant award in 2006.

Executive chef Bright has extensive experience with hotel food and beverage. Previously, he worked at the Meritus Marina Mandarin Hotel, where the Bologna Italian Restaurant was named as one of the top ten Best Italian Restaurant outside Italy. Before that, he was with Hilton hotels in Singapore. European trained Chef Bright’s cuisine style ranges from classical to modern contemporary with a touch of sophisticated flair. His philosophy centres on the balance of the body and spirit through a holistic approach evident in his culinary masterpieces as inspired by simplicity, and freshness of product and precision in cooking.

“We are delighted to have Chef Bright onboard. He has a genuine passion for gastronomy and brings to his new role a wealth of experience - a great combination of expertise and a distinct flare for culinary creativity which will boost our hotel’s reputation as one of the premier dining destinations within Bangkok’s central business district,” said Samir R. Wildemann, general manager of Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn.

Chef Bright looks forward into entering another milestone in his career by settling in Bangkok. "I am very excited and happy to be part of this team. The opportunity to continue my career with Radisson and the Carlson Hotels Group in such a unique destination like Thailand is an important professional challenge. I'm looking forward to making a difference and further enhancing the reputation for culinary excellence that Thailand is already known for," said Kan Bright San.

Radisson Hotel Bangkok Sathorn will open 100°East, The Crust and Zin, and is expected to bring a new and refreshing take on business and casual city dining. The City Life Dining concept focuses on achieving excellence in culinary offerings with a variety of cuisine flavors and unparalleled customer experience. 100°East will offer all-day dining in a casual and contemporary setting designed to become one of Bangkok’s most popular venues.
